I'm Mike, the British founder of Nordic Travel Table, an independent, Finland-based travel business helping travellers plan and book holidays throughout Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland.
Whether you're dreaming of seeing the Northern Lights in Lapland, exploring Norway's spectacular fjords, discovering Scandinavian cities or planning a multi-country Nordic adventure, I'm here to help make your trip memorable, enjoyable and easier to organise.
What makes Nordic Travel Table a little different? I'm not simply recommending destinations from behind a desk somewhere overseas. I live in Helsinki, in the heart of the Nordic region, and bring a combination of first-hand local knowledge, personal service and a traveller's perspective to every trip.
From Visiting Finland to Calling It Home
I first came to Finland as a visitor, just like you, and enjoyed this part of the world so much that I eventually decided to make it my home. Having already previously visited the other Nordic countries, I came here for a solo trip a few years ago during which I met my Finnish (now) wife. Shortly thereafter, I decided to move my life from the UK to Helsinki and I thought what better way of sharing my incredible experience, than helping others do the same; and before you ask, no, a new potential life partner is not promised as part of any of our packages!
Living here has given me a different perspective on Nordic travel. Beyond the famous attractions, I've come to appreciate the everyday experiences that make this region special: its food and café culture, traditions, architecture, changing seasons, natural landscapes and distinctive way of life.
I also understand what it's like to discover the Nordics as a visitor. Having experienced both sides, I want to help other travellers explore this remarkable region with the confidence that comes from good preparation and reliable local insight.
That combination of British roots and life in Finland became the inspiration behind Nordic Travel Table.
